WTS: Ruger/Lyman Centennial #1 rifle. FTF NE IL only.
Anybody in Illinois like Rugers?
Cased, Engraved Ruger No. 1 Lyman Centennial Commemorative Single Shot Rifle. 28" barrel, .45-70. No sights. Two scope mount sight blocks. Scroll and leaf engraved receiver. Checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with metal buttcap with brass Ruger medallion insert and solid red recoil pad. Swivel stud on barrel ring in front and in stock on rear. Also includes: Lyman Centennial Century Model 4X rifle scope with mounts; bronze medallion; three reloading dies; walnut handled bullet mold; a box of 20 cases; two detachable sling swivels; a book about the history of Lyman with a chapter on the rifle; stainless steel cleaning rod with walnut handle with a small replica of the face side of the three inch bronze medallion inserted in the end; brass jag and bore guide. Complete in a walnut locking presentation case with green velveteen lining and key. 1100 of these rifles were made.
The case shows some age, both inside and out. The rifle is 99% and unfired. The stock is excellent. All accessories are like new, except for some ring marks on the scope caused by the rear mount. This is normal for external mount scopes. The gentleman I bought this from was planning on shooting it and mounted the scope...hence the marks. $1400 face to face in NE Illinois only. (There is one on GB now that went over $1600, but didn't make the seller's reserve price) The rifle and case are heavy, I don't even want to think about trying to ship it! But I am willing to drive a bit to meet a buyer.
