Default FS: S&W 2nd Model .44 Hand Ejector

*****SALE WITHDRAWN*****

S&W Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Hand Ejector revolver in caliber .44 Special. WITHDRAWN

Produced in about 1926. SN is 23,760. 6 ½” barrel, blued finish. About 85% condition (??) with wear in the usual places: sides of barrel, cylinder, front of frame, trigger guard and (especially) the back grip frame. Times and indexes perfectly. Very good bore and chambers with no pitting. Some brown patina in worn areas. Checkered stocks w/ S&W medallions worn evenly and with no chips, cracks or splits. Lanyard ring. Matching serial numbers on butt, under barrel and on back of cylinder.

Frame cutout shows a different number (79561) and a US Military “Eagle Head” over “S2” inspection mark. Most likely a leftover Model 1917 frame used for this commercial gun. Overall, a nice specimen. Nice enough to collect, not too perfect to shoot

C&R eligible, of course!

All Federal, State and Local laws apply. Payment via POSTAL MONEY ORDER ONLY (unless other arrangements are approved BEFORE buying). Buyer to pay actual FedEx shipping charges with insurance. Must ship to FFL holder. Do not bid if you cannot take delivery of the item due to local laws or restrictions (assault rifle bans, magazine restrictions, etc.) Must be 18 for long guns and 21 for handguns. Please ask any questions before saying "I'll take it". Thank you

Is this gun also listed at auction somewhere?

It was, but is not currently. That's from my standard auction text.

Do the grips match?

No, the grips do not appear to have either a stamped or penciled serial number on them that matches the gun. The right panel does have some numbers that look like they are in black ink under the finish...4 digits that look like 9332. They do not look like any other S&W grip serial number markings that I have ever seen (and I've owned several S&W revolvers from this era, including M&Ps, .22 Outdoorsman and a Reg Mag).

EDIT: SALE WITHDRAWN FOR NOW AND RETURNED TO AUCTION
