I have a Dan Wesson 375 Super Mag with a 8" barrell that I have no need for. I was thinking about trading this for something else, but I do not know what the value is. Serial number is SM05XX. It has only been fired a few times. No box, papers or accessories. I also have 20 rounds of Corbon ammunition to kick in. What can I expect for this handgun?

Thanks for your help.

I dunno, it's a caliber that isn't everyone's cup of tea by a company no longer in business. As I recall, the .375 Mags were only made in the Palmer incarnation of Dan Wesson (First was Monson, Mass, then Palmer, then Norwich) and Palmer guns do not have a great reputation (supposedly the original machinery was getting worn, tolerances were hit or miss and Quality Control was catch as catch can).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to trash your gun, just talking.

There are not that many .375's out there and so there isn't much in the way of comparatives, similarly there isn't a lot of people looking for one either.

There are some pretty savvy people over on the Dan Wesson Forum, you might try:

and see what they say.

My guess would be somewhere in the $400 to $600 range but you may have to wait a bit for a buyer to come along.

Do you have the caliber right. Isn't that a .357 Super Mag?

It is easy to flip the 5 and the 7 when talking about these guns, and the Cor-Bon ammo makes me think it is a 357 Supermag, although I didn't know they ever made this ammo either.

If it is a 375 Supermag it is pretty rare and desirable to some. To my knowledge factory ammo was never made, although I think Reed ammo makes some now. Dies are scarce and expensive, and shortening 375 Win brass is a chore.

I don't think the 375 Supermag offers that much more than a 357 Supermag, and bullets are much more expensive. I do like them but sold my 375 Seville and kept my two 357 Supermags and 445 Supermag Dan Wessons.

The prices of Dan Wessons and Supermags seems to going up since they are not being made anymore. I would think a seldom shot 375 Supermag with box and tools would be worth about $750, but a Palmer gun, as noted would require a close inspection.

I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of your gun.

I bought my NIB for $833 this spring. It had the box, extra paperwork, extra stock, etc but not the barrel wrench.

Great gun, and very accurate. I especially like the Supermag over my Ruger 357 Max because the Ruger is much lighter and is harder to hold accurately.

I decided to drag out my SuperMax for shooting tomorrow. Very impressive gun.

The big DW is on the bottom and my old standby the Ruger is on the top. Both are great Maxes, but the DW is much more fun to shoot.

I thought that would bring Peter out of the woods.:D

My year old Blue Book 29th ed lists a range for the 375 Supermag of 100% $650
90%=$450

add $15 for each inch of barrel over 6"

No dies, tool or box... I would think $500-$550 on gunbroker; $350-$400 if sold locally.

Here are a couple of pics of the 375 super mag.

I shot about 350 rounds out of my Supermag yesterday. What a fun gun to shoot, but boy are my arms sore. I need to get out and do some upper body workouts if I am going to shoot that gun much.

Exceptionally accurate by the way until the barrel started to loosen up.

My guess would be maybe another $50 higher...but with 7 or 8 good daylight pics, that price could easily go another $100 or more higher.

The downside is that the .375 SuperMag is an odd caliber, an will only appeal to a limited group of people & is tough to find loaded ammo. I own both a Dan Wesson .357 SM & a .375 SM, they are top notch revolvers & a joy to shoot.

Here are my SuperMags....357 & .375...the .375 is actually rapidly becoming my favorite of the two.
