Was walking with a buddy for lunch in the financial district out here in SF and found out that Michael Moore was going to be giving a speech as part of his promotion campaign for his new movie Capitalism: A Romance Story. He was giving away "free lunches" to represent what the tax payers gave the banks (I believe BofA and Wells Fargo are/were hq'ed/founded here). He got few claps from the crowd as most of the folks around this area work for financial institutions.

However, an interesting note is that he started to lambast Pelosi and Obama for being in the pocket of the corporations and that they won't do what is right by the people unless forced too. He got Pelosi pretty good with some comments. The left is frustrated by the work of the grass roots workers on the right holding up their universal health care and are starting to eat their own.

Michael Moore made HIS fortune in a capitalist/free market economy and he has NEVER lived in a socialist country.
I am reading a book entitled "Berlin Journal 1989-1990" by Robert Darnton, he was a professor who was in Berlin to do research when the East German Revolution of 1989 started, he notes that it was younger people who had grown up in the DDR and NEVER lived under a capitalist system were the ones who fled to the West when they got the chance
and the ones who stayed behind made it clear they were fed up with 40 years of living in a "worker's paradise". The only thing socialists know how to build is a police state.

Michael Moore finally figured out the way to get the most money is to do a safe topic - insult the institutions in America (the companies that got bailouts and are screwing us) that 99% of us are pissed off about. He knows it can't possibly fail, and he'll look like a genius.

However, if it knocks some of these terrible congressmen down a peg... I may be pleased.

Knew of him 30+ years ago in Flint when he wrote and I believe edited a left paper called the "Village Voice". He was a moron then and is a moron now IMO.

He and his ilk are upset because Obama and Pelosi aren't liberal enough...
