I'll send a cleaning kit for a Sigma 9mm, the one with the straight knurled rod (also good for .38/.357) to the first person to ID the flag that's hanging over the headboard (NOT the 50 star Stars and Stripes. )
You need to ID the flag, the pattern, and the most famous individual to fly it.

Muley,
It's General Robert E. Lee's headquarters flag, I believe. If I am correct, the pattern of the stars on the blue field is to represent the Ark of the Covenant. And if I further recall correctly, the flag was designed (or at least sewn) for the General by his wife.

Thirteen stars for 13 colonies. It's anybodies guess as to what famous person flew it. I'm gonna go with Elvis!

Thank you for the opportunity, Muley. Let me thank Professor James I. Robertson of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech for providing the learning opportunity that enabled me to answer your question.
In the current political debate surrounding health care and other issues, I am reminded of a letter General Lee wrote to British Lord John Acton in 1866.
Lee referred to the writings of Jefferson and Washington and warned that “the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded.”
'Nuff said.

Dang it....too slow! I was watching the History Channel last night and a program was on exposing the human frailties if you will, of the founding fathers. Despots all, according to the program. I cannot help but think that I have never, ever heard one disparaging remark about Gen. Lee from any historian or other source.

Not quite. Yes, this was General Lee's HQ flag.

Muley,
I've got to ask: what did I miss?
Thanks.

I tried and didn't get the "waving" effect. You must've really, really been bored.

Bullseye,
The flag is the First National and the pattern of the stars is the "Bread of Life".
Send me your address and I'll ship the kit.
