Thanks, Gunsmith11. I have checked that site. I would like to have information on all of the various models and finishes that S&W has made and used on handcuffs. The site you mention would be a GREAT album to post on this forum, with descriptions.
Thanks again,

No, they don't hurt. When we're in the mood for pain, we use these...
Seriously, I'm not into pain. Or handcuffs. Sorry if I disrupted your thread. If you check the knives and collectibles section, there was a handcuff thread not too long ago.

hoping someone can identify the cuffs...a fellow officer as i recall gave me these in the mid 80's..he had no key..i still dont ....they are S&W,appear to be of the high security type, brushed stainless finish with the one link chain...what is odd is they will not accept any standard type key,not even close...there is no model number on them...only the number 849799....the key slot is a round, raised circle (large) with a post coming up the middle..appears a very large round key with no flag slips in and onto the post, turn to open...these cuffs are not the high security (or any other) that appear on the S&W site..they are not in the 3rd edition S&W guide...they dont appear to be real old and look about like any other set of cuffs with the exception of that keyhole...any help would be very appreciated

I still have a pair of S&W cuffs rattling around here somewhere. Nothing unusual and have the little key.
May even have the box they came in.. I guess I'll have see if I can find them again.

Here are a few from my prior life. Top to bottom: Smith and Wesson, Peerless, JayPee.
http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...AxMTguanBn.jpg
All have seen lotsa use, as might be expected!
Various cases are to the right.
Be safe.
PS:
Didn't realize there was an interest in handcuffs; beyond the occasional recreational use thereof. BTW, all are available should anyone be interested.

They are just remnants of the old LEO days.
Ain't you never heard of rustlers and poachers? I am the only law around until the SO boys git here.
It would take the SO at least an hour to get to the ranch if they could find it.
Then they would have to find me and the BG's on 45,000 acres of rough territory.
I don't really mind makin' the BG's lay in the cactus for that long, but they git a mite impatient after a while. It's best to hook'em up don'tchaknow!

I hate to be utterly obvious, but have you called S&W?
Failing satsfaction there, check with Lindsay Lohan. See who makes the keys for her gold-plated cuffs. (Sorry: can't find the winking Smilie in Edit mode.)

yep...spoke with S&W...they have just a couple of these keys left and are sending one...doesn't match the apparent letter to this pair which is an A...but...we shall see
as to lindsey...nah...a 20 something year old with a childs mind in a 50 year old shell...she would be of no known value

I have been asked a few times by women while on patrol If I have hand cuffs and I ask them which one's they want.
Regular or the ones with "Fur" on them.
That usaly brings a big smile on thier face.

I was forced to surrender all of the Super 8's that had the cuffs prominently displayed during the divorce settlement. Sorry?

How about another gratuitous M-100 photo. Got these a few weeks ago, they'll be my good buddies once I leave the BP academy.

Not S&W handcuffs.
These handcuffs were given to me by a retired Detroit Police Sgt. (now deceased). He retired in 1959. He once told me that he knew members of the Purple Gang.
Clarence said the handcuffs belonged to his Uncle who was the Constable of Erin Township (MI) around the turn of the century (1900's). I believe Erin Twp. consisted of Roseville, Warren, St. Clair Shores, & East Detroit.
The cuffs are marked Matt???ck, Waterbury, Conn. I can't read all the writting.

I've got quite a few pair of different brands. I got most of them off of kids who had locked themselves up and didn't have a key. The parents would usually give them to me so it wouldn't happen again. This happens quite often. A friend called me from Georgia a couple of weeks ago after her seven year old lock himself up and wanted to know how to get them off. I told her to call the local police and they came and took them off.
