Wink Sellers Remorse

I am having a hard time selling a couple of guns that I dont shoot much.
Only 1 S&W, Being a 6" 66-2. Nothing special about it and I have a real nice P&R 19-3 in 6"
It is coming toward the holidays and my lady always wanted a nice Model train set, She happens to like the "best" ones made, And since I feel she's the best, I am going for it, It looks like it will set me back 600+ bucks.
At times I look at it like it's just 1 real nice gun that I would buy for myself, So not much $$$ in a sense,,, But for me, I would not buy that 600 dollar gun since I've been laid off, And the new job I just got does not pay what my last one did, BUT I am working.
It is sad to see the old 66 on GB, As wall as a couple of Non Smiths.
I dont think I will miss the 66 much, Only shot it once, But once I take a Smith home I never sell them, They like it here!
Now I know that to some of you with big N frame collections that make me drool,,,, Do you ever part with one????
Oh Well,
The train set will make her cry with happiness, And then I wont see her for days while she is setting it up and playing with it!
It's all worth it !
Priceless!
And I am thankful that I do have what I have and dont have to sell anything to keep my house or pay bills with.
I am Grateful!
Thinking ahead to the Holidays, Starting to spend $s now.
Thanks all for listening.
Hope that your upcoming holidays fill your heart with Warmth and love!
Peter

...I thought sellers remorse was AFTER the sale....and without all the good stuff that comes along with such a nice treat for someone special.....this is trading something good for something even better.....IMHO...

cheers to you both

I get it EVERY time!
Funny, how it doesn't kick in for me as "buyers" remorse? At least when it comes to guns.

Good for you for making your wife happy--that's the best reward there is! Over the quarter century (has it really been that long?) I had accumulated a bunch of rifles and handguns, and I realized earlier this year there were quite a few I hardly ever shot (some for more than ten years!). I looked at what I really wanted and sold the rest--better to give them a good home where they'll be enjoyed than getting bunged up in my safe. (Don't tell my wife, but it my case I turned the cash into a Nighthawk .45 and an LMT AR15! ). My view is if you've got a gun that you're not really enjoying (and you can always buy another later if needed) then sell them and get something else--especially if it makes your spouse happy!
