I you shop at Costco, take a look at the Amex Costco card.(True Earnings)
Costco only takes Amex anyway.
No annual fee (for card) 3%gas,restaurants
2% travel (hotel,car rental)
1% all other
Small catch;if a gas station doesn't register with Amex as gas station you only get 1%.
You still have to buy a Costco membership.

I use the FNBO (NRA) Visa card. No fees, you get 1 point for every dollar. NRA gets something on the back end. Joe

+1 for the Costco Amex I have been a member for years and you can either spend the rebate or just go in the store and cash the check.
If you want to find out the best card for you go to bankrate.com and they have a rating system and lots of info on all the cards out there. A great site for any type of credit questions.

If you get a one store card, it takes a long time to acquire major points...I have a Citi rewards card....every thousand points is 10 bucks...it adds up quick if you pit everything on your card...

+1 on cabelas
you cant go wrong
one point for every dollar, except for cabelas....
then it's two points for every dollar spent
and some times, cabelas has triple point offers
(that is when you buy that big item you have
been thinking about for a long time...it lessens
the sticker shock with a great rationalization: at
least i am getting triple points!)
my wife says the points are going towards buying clothes
i say it's going towards something else besides clothes!
(anything else)
i used to have a card that did air line miles....
it is such a pain to cash them in....you can never
travel when you want unless you pay the premium choice...
so i have switched to cabelas.....i think it will work out much better

The Citi card I have gives points (3%) for purchases at grocery stores, drug stores, and gas stations (which is a significant part of the budget). I'm sure Citi has many other programs, so I'm not sure how to zero in on this one if you like it. Besides the purchases mentioned above, I use a Chase VISA card for everything else.
