Default Ya think the jury was instructed to disregard?

I guess you take your chanches when your client doesn't like your strategy. I am sure it won't influence the jury, riiiight.

Quote:
Defendant head-butts lawyer in Yakima court

YAKIMA, Wash. - A murder trial in Yakima was interrupted when the defendant head-butted his lawyer.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports medics were called Wednesday for attorney Adolfo Banda who was bleeding heavily from a cut above his left eye. He later told Judge Michael Schwab he would have to leave for stitches.
Just before the attack Banda told the judge his defendant, Eriberto Gonzalez, disagreed with his strategy to call defense witnesses.

Gonzalez is charged with first-degree murder in the March 2007 shooting death of a man he believed had an affair with his girlfriend.
Gonzalez was restrained by court security officers after hitting his lawyer.
Sounds like ole Eriberto may have some anger control issues.

I've wanted to head butt quite a few attorneys.

A lot of attorneys have that head/butt relationship.

What they are not saying is that just before this incident, knowing the current strategy was not working the lawyer told Eriberto that "We need to put our heads together and devise a new defense or you are cooked".

"Just following my lawyers advice your honor".

Well at least he was participating in his defense. I had a case one time where my client fell asleep. Took the jury 5 minutes to convict and the Baliff told me he heard the toilet flush twice
