Welcome to the Forum Bart Skelton
Saw you post on Steve's Tribute thread and I thought I would take the opportunity to welcome you to one of the best forums on the net.
You father's first article was published the year I was born, and from that time forward he influenced several generations of shooters, myself included. I think I have read everything he published, and have been working on my own "Skeeter" gun for a few years now. I think I am to the point of getting it engraved and having Keith Brown make a set of grips suitable for the project.
Here's mine posted many times, but was my very first new gun and first 44 magnum purchased in 1985.
I enjoy your articles as much as your fathers and have read "Down on the Border" several times.
I hope you will be a regular contributor here and I anxiously await future posts.

I remember Skeeter's articles featuring Bart when he was about six years old.
How time flies!

Bart's quite an author in his own right and his book is a good continuation of his father's legacy.

What's Bart's "call sign" so we can look for him? I'm a great fan of Skeeter, and Bart seems like a chip off the old block.

Skeeter was a huge influence on my shooting life and interests. Started reading him about ~'73 or so and read many a 'Shooting Times' with his work in'em hidden inside a school textbook.
Now, here i am a retired LEO, working at a gunshop and still quoting Skeeter's work and findings.
He was a great man.

Glad to have you here!
I have a lot of articles from both you and your dad, and it will be a pleasure to chat directly with you. Expert opinions are a huge bonus on this forum.

Welcome to the forum. Had the honor of meeting your dad at an NRA show in Denver many, many years ago. Hope I get the chance to meet you someday. I still remember the article where your dad built a Colt SAA out of an old frame. I think it was your first bigbore handgun, but not sure. Look forward to your posts.

I probably still have acopy of that article in my files. It was called "An old Colt for a young buck", or something similar.

Met your dad at the NRA gunshow in San Antonio in 1977 or so..I forget. He was responsible for my poor grades in college, since I spent more time studying HIS articles than my texts, but I do not regret that. Welcome, I have most of his articles as well as yours.
