Default fun with a k38

i guess its more years back than i want to remember, but i believe one of the more fun things in life was blasting rats with an old 8" K38. as teenagers back in the late 50's and early 60's there were several local dumps around the area. we could load cast bullets in a 38 cheaper than buying 22's using 4 gr of bullseye and a 140 gr cast bullet. so during the summer we'd spend the morning and early afternoon loading up 38's and in the late pm take off to one of the dumps. i think on average we'd go through 2-300 rds an evening sending rats to their whatever. love to be able to do that again, but all the little dumps are closed and just a big landfill exists now, and they won't let anybody go shoot the rats there. still have that old k38, it was my first S&W and probably still my favorite

That sounds like fun. How about some pictures
of that old 38. Seem like we had more fun when
there was not as much to do. Don

Shooting rats at the dump was one of my favorite things to do as a kid! My brother and I would use a .22 WWII training rifle. There wasn't a rat, or bottle that was safe!

Yeah, I miss that sort of thing too! Nowhere local anymore to do that or just pink.
