Back in June my wife and I closed on our house through Key Bank. Well, Key Bank kept sending all of our payment info to our old address, so it kept getting sent back, yet they never called us. We have never received any payment info (welcome package as it was called), from anyone. I called several people, only to find out that our loan was sold to Bank of America, so we have been sending our mortgage checks to them. Well, last month we got our school tak paperwork which is escrowed. I mailed it to them, no reply, towards the end of the month, I called again. It turns out that after all this time, our loan is in limbo. Bank of America doesn't have it, and neither does Key bank. Our mortgage checks have gone nowhere, and until today, all but one have been accounted for. The school tax info, well, they never got it. So I faxed it to them two weeks ago, they never got it (so they claim). Then, I mailed it to them certified mail, they finally got that copy. Yesterday I get a call at work from Key Bank, they tell me that there is no record of me sending ANY checks for my mortgage. So now we are having to track down checks. I'll tell this much, if I get my way I wouldn't even turn a roll of quarters in to either Key Bank or Bank of America.

Bank of America, who gave credit cards to Illegals....The Bank was run out of town in a little Brothel Based community in Nevada. On the Edges of town limits there are signs posted paying good riddance to the bank and don't come back!

David - go to your {checking acc't} Bank and get copies of the cancelled checks. On the back, there will be an acc't number where/when the money was deposited. Your bank should help you with those cancelled checks if you can't pull them up online.

I have had terrible troubles with BofA in the past. Lousy outfit. I refuse to do business with them.Besides they are closing their branch here so only one branch anywhere close. I do my business with a credit union.

Hire a lawyer who is well versed in consumer issues in your state, I just got finished tagging (*****************) bank here in Louisiana for around 13k damages (on top of the "found" money of clients) plus 8.5k legal fees plus ordered to clean up the entire mess including the credit bureaus for the screw up's of the servicer they sold the mortgage to. I love these kind of suits-Just grind it our-keep your time and bust them. This kind od nonsense happens very often, and usually people just trow up their hands in disgust. Talk to a lawyer who knows this stuff. If your bank screwed up your credit (or even put in a report based on their screw up you can recover damages) or let a servicer charge you fees for various stuff that is not specifically provided for in yout original mortgage-you can recover. Contrary to assertions to the contrary, a servicer cannot notify you of changes and add fees for various things unless these fees are includerd in the original mortgage document-and trust me, they're not. I guess you can tell I love screwing with banks who screw over my clients.
Here'a a piece of advice. Ask your bank before you get a mortgage if they sell it or parcel out the servicing. If the answer is yes-find another bank. Trust me on this one. Use a credit union or a strong local bank if at all possible.

Dave; Forgot to say on previous post that I went with a bank when I lived in Calif. Bank of Stockton never went public therefore didn't have to answer to govt.edicts. They have been owned by the same family since 1867. Thank God I'm out of Calif. but 2 of my kids are still there.
