Cell Phone Gun??
READ BEFORE WATCHING
Most see airport security as a pain. Some feel violated. When you watch this clip, you'll understand why they want your cell phone through the x-ray machine. If you get asked to test your cell phone at the airport, this is the reason. Cell phone guns have arrived. They are real.
The attached video clip shows how cell phone guns operate. These phones are not in the U.S. Yet, but they are in use overseas. Beneath the digital phone face is a 22 caliber handgun capable of firing four rounds in rapid succession using the standard telephone keypad.
European law enforcement officials are stunned by the discovery of these deadly decoys. They say phone guns are changing the rules of engagement in Europe . Only when you have one in your hand do you realize that they are heavier than a regular cell phone.
Be patient if security asks to look at your cell phone or turn it on to show that it works. They have a good reason! Wake up to our NEW WORLD!! We shouldn't complain about airport security 'invading our privacy.'
Sorry but I am not able to attach the video or even the picture...
but they do exist.

I think you'll have to post an internet link before we can view the video. Interesting development, though.

No offense, but so what? there have been guns before made to look like pens and whatnot.
Just something new, cell phones are everywhere so making a gun that looks like one is a normal progression, granted the pen guns weren't what I'd call something I'd count on,one shot and no sight?
How many rounds does this cell phone gun hold?

Has a terrorist ever been "caught" with one of these or similar camouflaged firearms (that would be classified as an N.F.A firearm) that was brought into the U.S. illegally? I don't think they have, and I'd love to see some stats on this subject.
There are a few of the niche makers of many various "A.O.W's" that can be legally bought on a tax stamp. Cells phones, briefcase guns, wallet guns, cigarette box guns, pen guns, zip guns, guns like the Microtech that fold up into a box or book, belt buckle guns, cane guns and likely a whole bunch I haven't thought of...
So...what's wrong with a cell phone gun? Nothing that I can see so long as it's in the hands of honest Americans.
The biggest problem with a gun shaped and sized like a cell phone and other "clandestine" A.O.W's that mimic other common items...is the fact that they aren't worth a hoot as anything other than a belly gun.
If you own a Stinger Pengun- like this fine example:
Well, you know that it is about the worst thing to shoot possible. Impossible to aim and shoot, recoil from .22 LR high-velocity ammunition will turn your thumb purple- but it's cool to own.

The suppository bomb is more a threat as there is at least one documented case of an actual terrorist getting his "hands" on one and using it.
This other stuff is the stuff of scare stories to sell ads on network news and hollywood BS to try to scare the sheeple into more draconian laws.

I feel more violated that there isn't a clip to watch.

I've seen a video of a cell phone gun about 7 or 8 years ago, as I recall it had a fixed antenna which served as a barrel and fired as a single shot .22LR, firing mechanism was activated by one of the buttons on the number pad.
It would have to be considerably more sophisticated today since anyone carrying a phone with a fixed, 2 inch antenna and a phone body that you could wrap your hand around would stand out like a sore thumb. I mean, it would look like a dinosaur when placed next to a modern phone.
As I recall, there was a shipment of half a dozen of these intercepted by Customs in LA 4 or 5 years ago, there are no documented cases of one ever having been used however that I am aware of.
But, that's why security at airports wants you to turn your phone on when you go through the checkpoint, they want to see if it actually works as a phone.

I've seen a .25 single shot made from an old pager casing about 15 years ago...looked like a pager and was done by someone with some know how.
Always been this kind of thing around...I was suprised that it took this long with a cell phone. (Anyone remember the palm pistol being marketed a few years back as a medical device?)
