Question Shooting and missing the target

Did some shooting last Sunday and it was pretty bad, took me about 20 rds to back on target with my 1911 .45. I have been shooting my S&W 66 more since it is easier to reload.I dont have to look for the brass. Yes I am LAZY. Anyone have problems going from one gun to another?

What’s the last thing you saw before you closed your eyes.
That’s a question a PMI (Primary Marksmanship Instructor) asked me at Parris Island in 1964.

Hi:
With the shortage of ammo and reloading componants and high costs,
shooting different firearms is a luxury that I can't enjoy.
A revolver is easier to shoot accurately than a semi-auto for me.

Yes, I've noticed that when I change guns, particularly between very different guns like a revolver and a 1911, it takes me a few rounds to get back to a consistent level of shooting. I'll sometimes dry fire a couple of times, but what works best is just being very concentrated on the basics for the first magazine or two.

You've got it all backasswards, Marshall.

A competitive shooter was on vacation in Switzerland. He visited a small village where every tree, every wall, the side of every building was covered with a bullseyes with a bullet hole exactly in the center of each of them.

He cornered a local, "This is the finest shooting I've ever seen. Who is the shooter?"

The local rolled his eyes, "The village idiot".

The vacationer found the idiot. "Great shooting! How do you do it?"

"Nuffin to it, I shoot first then draw the circles."

No Smiths in this story; today I was shooting fast from the holster, first a Colt Series 70, then a Glock. My speed with the Glock improved quite a bit after I got over trying to flip down it's non-existant safety.
