Global Warming
Is a bunch of ****. For decades we haven't had snow. In the last couple of years we've had a "dusting", but only once a year. As I look out my window while I'm writing this I see half dollar size snowflakes piling up. What is unusual is that it was predicted by the NWS. Most of our snows are a surprise. I know this doesn't mean much to you folks north of Tennessee, but this is unusual for this area. Maybe it means the Saints are gonna win the Superbowl. "When Hell freezes over."

I looked up global warming in the dictionary. it says, " A scam perpetrated by socialists to kill the United States economy, tax thier citizens to death, and give billions and billions of dollars to poor underdeveloped (lazy) countries because america is so heartless and evil".

Overnight lows have plummeted into the low fifties the last few nights, and actual clouds have been spotted by persons with experience in identifying them. There has been no measurable precipitation, according to persons who claim to recall what it looks like...

OK guys, here's my plan. Since Global Warming is obviously an undisputed fact, despite all the manipulated and lost data used to prove it, I am going to buy what will someday become prime sea front property in Greenland. When the glacier melts and the sea level raises I will be sipping Pina Colatas in my beach chair. You are all invited to get in on the ground floor of this deal for just pennies on the dollar.........send cashier's checks........address in Nigeria.......your great grandmother's maiden name.......your AARP account number.............................

You notice how Al Gore is hiding on the recent stuff...
..involving "global warning". He should.
Yesterday, we had quite a snowstorm. In most parts of the country, snow storms are quite common this time of year and barely rate mention.
However, this is southeast Texas...ANY snow fall here is front page-live team coverage 24/7!
During the storm, I posed for a picture at work. I held up a sign that said "Hey Al Gore, Does this look like global warming to you?"
It only lasted the day and faded quickly, but it was enough to prove that, if anything, it is global cooling.

This could be worse than Katrina, easier to dry off than warm up. Max, did you notice your post number? I think you are trying to tempt poor Charlie with the devil's brew.

Jim, one of our city fathers had the foresight to purchase several snow plows back in the early 1900's after a freak snowfall. The were sold a few years ago because the mules used to pull them have been dead for a very long time. The snow melted this morning.

It's 27 degrees F here in N. MI this morning. Over a foot of snow has accumulated on the ground since Friday and another 8"-10" thru Monday is forcast. I'm tired of plowing snow already and it's only the third day. I can't imagine how bad it would be without global warming going on. Maybe next week Michigan will lead the nation out of the recession.

"Global warming" has about as much to do with science as people selling paper flowers by the side of the road, or people at the airport with signs that say "queer today, gone tomorrow".
It's a religious cult, and one with all of the malice of the Fred Phelps types who try to disrupt military funerals.

The funny thing about global warming..... it causes regional shifts in climate which can cause places to actually cool....
.............. go figure.
Who knows.. maybe any climate change we're seeing is actually the beginning of a new ice age! Seems just as likely.

The Winter of 1993-1994 here in NJ was the coldest I can remember as an adult, lots of Zero Degree days. On June 28, 1778 the Battle of Monmouth was fought in 90 degree heat.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but after carefull study of the global warming evidence together with all of the other data known to mankind from the dawn of time, I have come to the inescapable conclusion that we are all gonna die.
As the forum attorney, I advise that all of you begin drinking heavily at once.
Bills to go out in the morning.

I don't get it. 47 @ 5AM. There is a blizzard not a buzzard warning on for tonight. Possible 12-18 inch of snow and 60 mph winds @ 8000 ft. I better bring more firewood into the barn.

Every time this topic shows up on TV or in the local (lib) paper, my wife starts rolling her eyes because she knows that I will tend to go on and on about how much of a scam I think it is. She knows it's a scam too, but just doesn't get so infuriated by it all.
I've tried drinking, but it doesn't seem to help - but today's another day.

Per Rasmussen polling, most (52%) American's believe that global warming is not settled science. Only 25% think most scientists agree on the topic, and 23% are unsure.
Meanwhile, "White House spokesman Robert Gibbs seemed to reject any such disagreement in a response to a question about global warming, 'I don't think … [global warming] is quite, frankly, among most people, in dispute anymore.' "

As one of the forum experts on this subject (and I normally distrust anyone who suggests I'm an expert on any thing), I can see your problem. You're just not applying enough alcohol to the problem. All you really need is to drink a bit more. Well, that or you should change brands. Allow the thread starter here (Charlie) and I to recommend genuine Kentucky Bourbon. As an alternative, our honored forum legal counsel will suggest Scotch. All 3 of us can attest to the effectiveness of Brewski's, too.
Its a simple solution, if some doesn't work, drink more!

The answer is more of that fine Tennessee Whiskey. That Kentucky stuff is for small kids and grandmas.

What took you so long to change the channel? He has one of the largest carbon footprints everytime he spews his BS.

Aloha,
Global Warming, my ---.
It was 65 degrees yesterday morning, I had to turn on my $20 Wal-Mart heater in the bathroom so I wouldn't freeze after taking a shower.
Hawaii is getting 50 foot plus waves from a winter storm north of us.
Instead of 80 degree days, we're getting mid to low 70s and sometimes into the mid/low 60s.
Snow is already on the 13,000 foot tall mountains(ex volcanos)
Tempted to let the dogs sleep ON the bed to keep us warm at night/mornng. Nah, everytime I get up to go to the bathroom, they roll over and take my spot and don't want to move when I get back :-)
