Old El Paso Weaver scope

I just picked up an older Remington 700 in .30-06 today.
From browsing around the intrawebs, it appears to be an ADL model dating to June 1966.
For this old of a gun, it's in great shape. Some minor freckling of the bluing right at the stock line on the left side of the action, and on the barrel just in front of the action.
Somebody had boogered up the front sight and sheared off the top half, so I punched it out and plan to replace it with a new one if I can find one.
The rear sight is missing the blade (guess that's what it's called), but I'm going to try to find a replacement for that, as well.

It also had an old Weaver scope on it, 3x9x40.
On top of the eye piece it says "V9" and has El Paso, Texas on it.
The glass isn't in the best shape, but it appears servicable. Atleast for daytime, range use.
The front of the objective looks like some kind of roughed up, like something was attached at one point.

Are these old Weavers worth trying to repair?
Is there even a place to send them to for repairs?
I have no problem replacing it with a modern scope, but it kind of adds a nostalgic feel to the gun.

I have sent several scopes to El Paso for Weaver repair and can recommend them without reservation. They will not reblue, but they will put new seals/gas and different reticles for a fee. They are very reasonable. I had a V4.5 sent to them. I broke the ol' girl shooting it on a 375 H&H. They put new gas, replaced the plastic seals w/ brass, new duplex reticle everything ship/shape. I believe the cost was $100 or less. A very good deal. Go for it. You'll be glad you did.

Hope you get the old scope going. I used a V9 for several years. I'd put it on every rifle I was working up loads on. Fairly indestructible, and adjustments always worked. I'm glad your getting the scope fixed. They are great scopes, and look perfect on certain old guns. A Rem 721 looks good with a V9. Later, beaver.
