Default Iraqi Border Guards using Glocks

Photo on the DoD official website shows a U.S. Army trainer instructing an Iraqi Border Guard on pistol handling. The Iraqi Guard is holding a Glock. It appears to be a 17, no rail, with original triangle front sight. I guess all of the Sigmas that were purchased went to the Afghans.

Doesn't the U S Army carry Beretta sidearms. Or is this the low bid deal supplies the guns?
