Default Anyone glad 2009 is about over?

This has not been my favorite year to say the least. Got a divorce, business was terrible and I lost a bunch of money, and all in all, it was probably the worst year in my life. But now I'm dating a wonderful woman, and when you hit bottom the only way to go is up, so I'm very positive about 2010. When I a say "Happy New Year".......I really mean it!

Best of luck to you.

I am happy that 2009 is over. It wasn't personally terrible as our jobs still go pretty well and we are healthy. Business was so-so, I've had worse years. 2008 was terrible in that department.

It was, however, a terrible year for our country. I hope we can dig ourselves out of this hole we are in. First we need to stop digging.

I didn't have a particularly bad year with the exception of losing a close friend that went before his time. I gotta' tell ya' though....we're one year closer to losing the current administration and I'm happy to celebrate that!

Not particularly.... dates / years are something we made up, so it's not like we get a magic reset button on Jan 1.

As you mentioned though, the only place to go from the bottom is up, so I hope you are in for a run of good luck!

Farmer17,

Obviously, hope you have a better year, mine was pretty good.

New grandson, no major issues with family, work continues, added a Model 17, and a S&W 1911 to the pack.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year.

Unhappy

My year was about like the original poster's, except the dating part. Still in the middle of the divorce, which sucks like a bucket of ticks to go through period, much less during the Holidays. I wouldn't wish this on no one, but 2010 is bound to be better for all of us.

About half of us have gone down this road before. It's not a fun one. For some lucky ones, it gets a lot better. It was a long time ago for me, my new mate has been with me for many years; all good ones.
God bless you, friend. I hope 2010 will bring out the sun.

Not a great year for the buisness I'm in ( construction ) lots of good friends layed off from work who will not be comming back, two pay cuts and not looking like a great year comming up. But at least for now, I still have a job and I'm thankfull for that. Did pick up a few nice guns this year and a S--tload of ammo.

Considering it's the year I found out I have colon cancer, I don't think I've got much good to say about '09, but I did buy some pretty nice guns last year!

Hopefully, this is the year we start to get rid of some of our incumbent politicians. I'm going to do my part of that difficult, but not impossible, feat.

Happy New Year to all of you!

I wonder if Hertz, U-Haul, Penske and the rest, have any idea how many pieces of rolling stock they're going to be needing come January of 2011'?
LOTS!
And THAT, is my definition of a better year!
A torn up check book, the printing presses out of commission and if we're lucky, someone NOT on hallucinogens reviewing the books.
