I have a problem with feral cats in my neighborhood. They like to leave their footprints, spray, and occassionally "things similair to that produced by Congress" on the roofs of my vehicles. (They do this in a gesture of mutual dislike...I am not a cat person).

Is their some kind of spray or something else that can be gotten to keep these "pests" off my cars? I have an idea, but cannot used them as jacketed hollowpoints and the resultant indictments they'd bring are out.

Problem solved...

I had the same problem a few years ago. I called the city and they sent over the animal control officer.I pissed a few of my neighbors off but in 2 months we caught 13 cats and 1 opossum in a havahart trap.My suggestion is go the above route or buy your own trap and do as you see fit

You need to clean any of the sprayed areas with 50-50 bleach and water in a spray bottle. Then use Glade cinnamon and apple bathroom spray everywhere they might try to mark. Keep spraying the glade until they go elsewhere. I have treated my doors, trashcans and tires with glade and have had good results. It can be your way of marking your territory. Cats seem to hate the glade spray and it is cheap.

hmmmm cat problem huh? all the reason I would need to get the new mp 15-22!

I've got 3 indoor cats and once in a while a stray will show up in the yard or on the deck which creates havoc with mine. I keep a cheapy Marksman BB pistol close at hand just for those occasions. I can pop the strays in the rear from 8 or 10 yds which solves the problem for quite some time. I also have a couple of high-vel RWS airguns in the case I need a more permanent solution.

I would set the live traps, transport the catch to a discrete location and pop 'em with a .22

I am an animal lover but I really dislike cats.

Shotgun does a good job around here.

All cats should be turned into a Animal Control agency There are idiots out there that release their domestic cats and also feed ferals. I trapped 15 or so when I first moved in to my new house. And at least at Animal control they get a chance to be reclaimed costs the owner money or maybe adopted.

If you trap and don't want to take your neighbors pet to the pound there is an easy way to determine pets from feral cats. Stick a pencil into the cage of a trapped cat, the feral cat will attack the pencil.

Use a long pencil, they'll go for the hand poking it at them, too.

You have to be careful with some of those taps... if the cat is feral and can get a paw out of the cage they will get you and it hurts! So if ya catch one in a new trsap be carefull until you figure out if it can get you through that cage when ya goto pick it up.

If close to neighbors buy a hi velocity gamo air rifle.Shot behind the ear and its all over,bait them with a can of tuna.

Lowes and Home Depot sell motion detecting sprinklers.... Scares all yard critters... even works on deer..... for a while

I'm not a cat lover. Living out in the country obviously allows me a little more freedom to deal with stray animal problems. I keep my border collie out of my neighbor's trash, I expect them to keep their cats off my cars and out of my barn. If not, my solution has proved to be effective and permanent.
