9mm Carbines
I have Rock River AR in 5.56, I was wondering if anyone had any experience witht he RRA AR in 9mm.
I looked at one today and it seemed very well put together and seemed like it would be a nice plinking/home defense carbine.
Any advice or thoughts?

O.k. range toy & such. I'll keep that platform in a 223. I have no interest. I'll take the 9mm in a lightweight semi-auto handgun.

I don`t have a Rock River but have shot quite a few.I do have 2 Colt AR 9mm carbines and can say they are without a doubt the most fun you can have with a carbine. We did have a RR 9mm and my Colt at the scout troop shoot a few years ago. They were the most popular along with an AK.We shot 1500 rds of 9mm between 14 scouts and neither AR had a problem.BTW all ammo was the old lacquer case wolf.Buy one and get a gem tec silencer, then the fun will really begin.

A friend got a RR upper and put it on a Colt lower. He has had no problems with it and shoots it more than his .223

I shot an uzzi at Knob Creek and loved it. The accuracy was surprising, 4"popper @70 yards was no problem.

9mm carbines are alot of fun, and RRA is a fine name, so I would hope it would be a good product. I plan to get in the AR field before long and if the upper Indycar spoke of works out I have even more ideas for it. Until then I'll keep burning up the Marlin Model 9.

Beretta Storm followed me home. Had some problems w pistol mags not seating but the large caps seem to do fine. Price was right then as well, about 300 less than they are going for now.

Great fun. You can shoot them on ranges that won't allow 5.56. Somewhat cheaper to shoot. Can shoot steel targets closer then 5.56. The recoil and splits are different between the two. They can be very finicky however. I have a RRA upper on my Stag and use REAL Colt or Metelform mags.

9mm carbines are fun from a plinking standpoint, but I'd never use one for much else.
