Dragoon
I gave $325 for one like that 3 years ago, built like a tank. Frame size is larger than a Colt or Ruger.

$300 range is right. I paid $275 for a 357 blue model with box and all papers a few months ago. The 44 mags seem to bring a bit more. Grab it, they are good guns!

I wish I had bought one of those back when they were being manufactured. Here is a link to a good article on the guns:

I have a 6 inch stainless model in 44 mag. In the orginal box with all paperwork. I do not think it has been fired more than several hundred rounds, if that. Anyway, someone on one of the forums was in dire need of one, so I offered it for $400.00, which he thought was out of sight. So take that for what it is worth.

Treasure it as if it were gold. My dad had two; both dark blue, 5" bbls and in 45 Colt. They are the two revolvers that made me fall in love with the old 45 "long" Colt cartridge.
Seeing this brings tears to my eyes, they were my Dad's favorite handguns. I have never seen any like the two. Sadly, some (CENSORED) broke in and stole them when my Dad was rushed to a hospital for a heart attack many years ago.

Greetings, All,
Many years ago, I bought a like-new Virginian Dragoon, by Interarms, in .44 Magnum. I thought it looked very nice, indeed, and it did look as strong as a tank. However, on the first day that I took it to the range, along with an S&W M29, 8 3/8" barrel, I had a huge failure when shooting that Dragoon, which could very well have injured either me, or some innocent bystander!
I was firing the same loads in both guns, and things seemed to be going along very well, indeed, when all of a sudden, a HUGE fireball erupted from the left side of the long barrel on the Dragoon!!! That scared me witless, I must say!! Turns out that the barrel had cracked, beginning about an inch from the forcing cone, in a straight line almost six inches in length!!! I thank God in Heaven that nobody was shooting in the range station to my left, as I think they very well might have been hurt when that barrel let go.
I took the gun to a place that did Magnafluxing, and found out that this particular revolver, which was investment cast, had tons of voids, in several places on it's frame, and of course on it's barrel, too!! For whatever reason, this particular pistol was a real lemon, and in all my years of shooting, I've NEVER seen a barrel let go like that! In the meantime, my S&W just kept perking along, shooting those very same loads that I had shot in the Dragoon. The M29 had no problems, and in truth, those loads were not even hot ones! But, due to the ubiquitous casting problems in that particular gun, it was going to let go sometime in it's life, and just happened to do so when I was the one firing it. Thank God nobody got hurt!!
I returned it to the seller, and he promptly and honestly gave me a full refund, no problem at all. So, all's well that ends well. However, I had so wanted that gun to turn out to be a fantastic and very strong shooter. I was truly disappointed that, at least in the case of that one revolver, it turned out to be very shoddily cast, and in truth, very dangerous. For what it's worth..... Take care, and God Bless!
Every Good Wish,
Doc

I've got one of the 44 mag bicentenial editions, serial number s11111, but I've had it so long that what I paid for it wouldn't reflect current prices. In addition to Doc Mark's story, I've heard others that didn't have happy endings. Mine has never shown a dark side, even with factory full house loads.
