Default Was heading for the gunshow...

Decided to stop at a dealer along the way...Oh, no!...a Model 10-5 2", a Model 18-3 4", a 29-2 6", and, and, and a gleaming 4" Python, circa 1969. Well, what would YOU have done? All, by the way, in choice condition though no boxes/tools, etc (Which is OK...if they live with me, they have to work for room and board)

I would have probably gone for the model 10 since I already have multiples of the others.

what are the laws in Wisconsin, about gun sales??? could you have bought all those pretty guns on the way to the show and maybe sold one or two to get some money back? or are you like me here in NY and have to register them.

No registration in WI, but do have a 48hr waiting period after the background check clears (Handguns only). No restrictions on private sales. No concealed carry (!) but can open carry in most areas (just recently, State AG said will no longer tolerate arrests for "disorderly conduct" for open carrying)...we'll see!

Red face

Well, I got the 10...then decided I really needed the 18...have always coveted a Python... what the heck, I grabbed those 3 (They will come home with me today). Talked myself out of the 29-2, since I have a 29-5 with the same barrel length, though of course not P&R (lucky it wasn't a 4"!). I scour the shops around here regularly and it is so rare to find a single S&W, much less that windfall., and I learned the hard way once when I decided to "think about" a nice 36-1 nickel for a day or so. The same shop also has a Model 41, but I'm sticking to the wheelguns for now.
P.S. I skipped the gun show!

You lucky dog! Congrats. I would have bought the 18 and the Python if the prices were right. In my area, you rarely will see them. Hope to see some pics soon.

Funny, EVERY time I plan on going to a gun show, I find a great deal on something I gotta have just before/same day at a local shop. ( the same local shop that hasn't had anything new in the case for 3 months!) It's like a curse!, Last 5 gunshows, totaled 7 new S&W's BEFORE I ever got to the show.

This week was no different. Gun show is this weekend and I just found a mod 60-4 (3",target) for cheap $ at a local shop!

I have to wonder if the new stock shows up from people wanting to sell stuff off to buy new guns at the show. Not complaining but share your pain ;-)
