A while back I became aware of a biography of S. D. Myres. It was written by a relative of his (by marriage) as her master's degree thesis. With the interest which many of us have in "Tio" Sam's work, I felt that you would find it of interest. It is now posted in the Expert Commentary section.
It is a pretty long read but I will be very surprised if you don't enjoy spending an evening with it. There is a lot of history of the southwest in the late 19th and first half of the 20th Centuries...much detail about life in that difficult time. I believe that you will learn much about the character and ethics of the man and there are numerous references about his association with Smith & Wesson and famous lawmen of the era.
I'm indebted to the efforts of Dave, our "IT Guy". for getting it in a format which could be posted.
