Default SHIPPING BLACK POWDER PISTOLS

Hello
I am posting this for a fried that is trying to find out how to ship black powder pistols.
I know about standard firearms, but these are black powder.
I understand that they do not have to go through an FFL dealer
but how must you ship these? (carrier, time frame, etc.)
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just box them up and ship them how ever you want to. Don

Ship UPS, Fedex or USPS. They fall under firearms regulations.

Unless very recent they do not fall under firearm regulations. Certain states do regulate them like smokeless firearms (NJ, MI for example) and then you have to go through a FFL, but most states do not. I've bought two 1864 Army black powder replicas from Cabelas and they came UPS standard shipping. If the firearm laws are too complicated to decipher just check the Cabelas catalog for shipping blackpowder fireamrs.

Under Federal law, they are NOT considered firearms and can be mailed via the USPS.

ALWAYS check out the local laws, on both ends.

I lived in NW ohio, could not buy a black powder pistol from Cabelas in Michigan. Per Michigan law they had to ship it to a FFL in Ohio. So I bought it off the Cabelas web site and had it shipped to my house, standard UPS. What a joke. I'm sure people in Detroit are sleeping better tonight knowing I wasn't running around with a 1864 army -
