| | REVELATION SHOTGUN What's an old Western Auto Revelation 310A worth? 12 gauge pump with some blueing wear, pretty good wood. Just gonna lop the barrel to legal length and make a little home defense social weapon out of it if I get it. Guy at work has it and wants 75.00 for it and is negotiable. I figure, if it FUNCTIONS, it's worth that. I believe it's built on a Mossberg pattern. Are these any good?

| | If it works I don't see how you can go wrong at that price. All of the Western Auto collectors (both of them) will be mad about cutting the barrel though. Might reduce it's collector value to $73.00.
Seriously, sounds like a good idea. |

| | The Western Auto Revelation 310A is "same-same" Mossberg Model 500.
They're not the prettiest filly in the herd, but are a strudy work tool that should last a long time.
$75 seems like a very fair price. |

| | If it's the same as a Mossy 500 I would not cut the barrel. Non rifled slug barrels for those are usually easy to find and fairly cheap since everyone wants rifled barrels. I think I paid $35 for the last non-rifled slug barrel I bought, but that was a couple years ago. |

| | Is a corncob style police forearm available for these? If I cut the barrel down, or get a different slug barrel, I really prefer short corncob forearms, like some of the old Ithaca 37's have.

| | jframe: A standard wood forearm could easily be refinished into your preferred 'corncob' pattern. But, complete stock sets in the usual black elastamer/polymer plastics are available fairly cheaply. Mossburg even sells the 500 with that furniture. ......... Big Cholla |

| | It's probably a toss up regarding which shotgun has more aftermarket parts available, the Rem 870 or Mossy 500. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
