Default a number of great finds today!!

just a good day all around...first up i picked up a new to me 29-3 3" lew horton 44 mag.has the fingergroove wooden combats..the gun is in about 95% condition with no muzzle wear and virtually no turn line at all...came home and recd. a bunch of SWCA goodies from a former member...23 of the journals dating back to about 1980 as well as several S&W catalogs from the 20's enclosed was also a postcard,dated 7-31-1902 where farist steel recd.payment from S&W for an order of steel...all in all a good day!

I have the same gun in stainless steel. You will find that firing full power 44 magnum ammunition in it to be somewhat eye opening, to say the least.

I load fairly mild 44 Special equivalent loads for range use, and I have some 200gr. JHP loaded to about 500 ft. lbs. for SD use.

I found that 500 ft. lbs of energy was my level for 'comfort'.

I can shoot warmer loads if I use a set of Pachmayr grips, but they aren't nearly as pretty as the beautiful finger grooved combat grips that came on the revolver.

I'm sure you will enjoy your Model 29 snubby!

LOL...maybe not...i shoot snubs in 500 and 460 magnum pretty regular....i reload so i can load them for best performance
