The talking heads keep repeating the statement that people making $42,500 pay no federal income taxes. Just this afternoon, on the Beck show, one of the talking heads stated that anyone making less than $50,000 pays no state income tax in California. Question - where do they get these numbers because it isn't true. Are these based on some "normal family" with a set number of deductions or what ????
And why do they keep stating these numbers as absolutes - as NOBODY instead of an individual with six kids and a number of write offs?

News programming is just that. It's not news reporting or journalism. It is entertainment. Talking heads will say what ever they must to get a rise from the audience or the other arguing talking head. As long as you know what you're getting from Faux News, you'll know how to respond and deal with the misinformation. When I was in military intelligence, we called it propaganda.
