Default Master gunsmith a marvel to watch.

I met Sal (ditrina) this morning at their Shoot Straight store for their Grand Opening in Lakeland. If you bought a Smith&Wesson revolver from them you could get a "free action job" from the a factory Smith&Wesson Master Gunsmith. Sal had him replace a couple triggers on a 27-1 and 27-2 that some meathead had ground off the serations.
Then I asked Mel if he would do and action job for me on a 696-1. It is amazing to watch a pro in action. With a twist, pop, grind, bang, slap and a tweak you have one of the most amazingly smooth actions you have ever felt. I felt very comfortable watching him, with what little tuning I do, when I saw how he removes a sideplate and pops out and replaces the rebound spring and slide like I do, but he is faster and is magical. It is the beauty of performance in action to watch him work. Thanks Sal!

Wish I had been there to watch.
I have the time but I seldom get around to doing any gunsmithing, even though there are things I'd like to do. Wonder what I'm waiting for...
