Maybe I'm getting too old and soft... lately, for the sightliest reason, I get teary-eyed. Being an American, especially a soldier, is reason enough to stand tall and proud. The tear in my eye is a thank-you to all our brave men in uniform.

I wonder if Iran will use any of the weapons that we sold them on us?
I bet old Ollie wishes he hadn't funneled profits from that deal to the Contras. I imagine he's a little annoyed that his government sold weapons to the Axis of Evil - Iran.
I agree we should all give thanks to our troops, often!

I thank Barbara for posting it.
I thank the General for his service. (I'm getting that way too, Pete!)
I just shake my head at other things.

Ollie North is a patriot of the first order, serving the USA admirably his whole life. He has nothing to be ashamed of, others wish they could buff his boots.
Thank you Col North, and thank you America's brightest and bravest.

Not only did we sell them weapons, we trained their military officers as well. Back when I was a Marine Corps midshipman at Auburn University, there were several Iranian naval officers going through the training, and I also met one of their Air Force officers there too.

IIRC, Bell Helicopter built a little Ft Rucker in Iran for the Shah. I recall a neighbor at Ft Belvoir getting out of the army to go to Iran and work for Bell/mega-bucks. That would have been about 1976.

Never confuse those absolutely "certain" of their information with the real facts gents.
After all, they could severely pull a muscle in the learning process!
Another triumph of statesmanship accomplished so skillfully by #39.
Although anyone would have to admit at this point, #44 is going to give #39 a hard run for his money. What with them BOTH being Nobel prize winners and all?
