Polishing gone way to far,or did it.
I was sitting around the other day thinking of things to do with my new toys, they were pretty beat up when i got them.So i decided to polish the slide down on my S&W 4006 and polish down the worn finish on my gen 2 g22.while doing so i decided to take my g22 one step further and take the horn off the front of the trigger guard, making it smoother and more round.

I agree with shoo, the S&W looks nice...er, the Glock looks like bar stock at the hardware store.

You did a good job on the horn on the trigger guard. What tools did you use for that work?

I think they both look good. The curved trigger guard on the Glock looks especially nice. You have a pic of the Glock trigger guard from the front? Curious is you were able to blend your grind to match the rest of the frame. Thanks,

I've thought many times that I could make my 4516 very shiny...
But since I just got it NIB I can't bring myself to do it. Maybe I'll find it a neglected brother. Nice work.

Here is some Hardchrome (and dust)on a Glock 20 10MM. Accurate Plating and Weaponry in FL. did the work. I'm Very pleased as It looks like I got it back yesterday instead of five years ago. It has done much of the five years on the salt water in Alaska. It was hiding from me in the fish hold(with a few gallons of ocean) for several days after some rough water out of Homer,Ak. Looks none worse for the wear. Sprefix

First i started with the 4006
i used 800 grit sandpaper then i turned to 1,000 grit sandpaper wrapped a small leatherman tool to keep sanding even. After that i used a dremmel tool with several polishing wheels to finish it.
On the Glock 22 i used 1,000 grit sandpaper to get the finish off, after that it was all dremmel tool with polishing wheels.
on the trigger guard horn i used a rough sanding drum then moved to a fine dremmel sanding stone then 1,000 grit sandpaper, after that i used a polishing wheel and my dremmel tool.It still needs a little work but i think it was worth it.Even took it to the range and shot 200 rounds through it with no ill effects.
Total glock project time was 6 hours, total S&W time 8 hours plit in 2 days.

I think that is an improvement on the Glock. Question?Does that hurt the integrity of the frame in whole. I have seen one that was done by Novak. They did a light sandblast on a taped off section where the hook started and ended looked like from a factory. I have seen other home jobs but none quite so clean looking....Nice job. Why did we become do hook crazy I see veryfew people use the hook.

The Smith looks really bad!
You need more practice!
I'll drop off my 5906 so you can practice up.
Make sure you do the frame too on my 5906!
Just fun'n with ya!
Looks good!
