? for Pa residents near NY/NJ
I have a Pa non-resident license issued from Denny Nau out of Centre County. Due to the new rules that will take effect in 2011, I'll need to find someplace closer to renew my Pa license. The new rules will require a personal appearance.
Anyone here live in Pike or Warren counties? These counties are closest to me and would make renewal alot easier than driving to Centre County. How's the process in either of these counties? Know anything about non-resident applications? Is it easy to do...ie is the Sheriff pro-gun like Denny Nau?

I'm paying attention, Mike. The "PA" caught my eye, but I'm not near the Poconos. CCW process should be the same statewide, so far as I know. What are the "new rules?"

Come into Milford, PA.
Just take 6 right on in.
Take 84 to Matamoras, and then take 6 into Milford.
OR - Take 84 to the Milford exit, make a left. Go down the hill into Milford and make a left onto Broad Street (Rt 6). You'll see the sheriff's building on the corner on your left - it's an old stone building.

Reason: LEFT onto Rte 6 from 84 Westbound

Bill, presently one could obtain a non-resident Pa license by mail, at least from Centre County Sheriff Nau. He's the "go to" guy, though there may be others. The beauty of it is that you mail in a check, with a copy of home state ccw, and then in 2 weeks get your license. Some counties in Pa are not as easy. In 2011, the law is changing to require a personal visit for photo's and scanning of your DL. I have no issue with that, as it's been very easy up until now.
I'm just looking to find a place closer to the NY/NJ/Pa border to make the process easier. Hate to travel 5 or 6 hrs then be told to come back another day.

Sorry Barb, I was typing as you responded. So Milford is easy/painless to renew my ccw? Is the Sheriff gun friendly?
I have been thru Milford before.

Sheriff here is Phil Bueki and yes, he's very gun-friendly. The office staff is nice, too. It's a tiny office - they're all nice. Sheriff's Office
