Sixteen Stevens Slays Some Squirrels
Say that 3 times fast!
Worked on some squirrels with a buddy this morning. The Springfield-Stevens 5100 will reach out there and touch 'em, too.
#6 Estate Brand shells. 2 Fox and one Gray. The grays were tricky today. 3 hid on us.

Good mess of squirrels !!
I always need about 5 tree-rats for my "brunswick stew".......I make enough for several quarts of stew that I put in the freezer for later use.

Never been. What's the out of state license cost these days? I grew up in SW FL, never really hunted squirrels, as they were pretty puny down there.
This was my first "dedicated" squirrel hunt, to be honest.

Nothing like a good squirrel hunt with a classic shotgun to make the world seem OK!

Good job. I love to squirrel hunt. My favorite guns to use on them is either my single shot 20ga or my single shot 28ga. Both of them will get the job done and they are not heavy to carry around.

It is safer with a shotgun. A .22 bullet will go a mile. There are 640 acres in a square mile. To be safe with a .22 you have to pick your shots very carefully or be in the middle of 2,560 acres. There is not that much open land around here. Larry

Just teasing Larry. I use either a 410 or a 16ga early season then switch to 22 shorts mid season. Though occasionally I'll use a Sheridan 20 caliber air rifle mid season.

Heck, I was wackin' 'em out to 50 yards, maybe more with the #6's. Didn't feel short gunned at all.
