Default Spegel Boot Grips

Anyone actually shoot their revolver with Spegel Boot grips on them.I don't mean occasional but all the time?I am looking at putting a set on a 3 inch model 65 but I would like to know how they actually handle under recoil.

Not sure why anyone would have them, otherwise; I carry, shoot, qualify with Spegels on my 642 and 60.

Be safe.

They handle 357 mag recoil just fine on my mod 13 as well as being beautiful. Couldn't be more pleased.

Milton:

Spegels (very, very comfortable grips, imo) on my 640 with .38 spl +P's are not a handful. Note that I am not Mr. Macho at the range nor a life-long shooter, just relaying my experience. I have to grip the Spegels higher than with the stock 3-finger rubber grips but, otherwise, no problems.

I hope to get to the range in a week for a test drive with some factory .357. Might be entertaining. I don't think you will have any trouble with Spegels on your 65.

I shoot some pretty stiff stuff in my 625 45 Colt; can't tell much difference between the rubbers it came with or the Spegels. I can run though a lot of ammo with the 625 wearing spegels.

there is no way to predict how Spegels or any other grips are gonna feel in your hand. I have sold off 2 sets of Spegels that came on guns I bought because they didn't fit my hand, although they certainly are attractive. One guy who bought my Spegels had them for sale a month later, so they didn't work for him either.
I spend a lot of time and effort getting the right grips on my handguns; sometimes go through 6 sets before finding the right one. I usually look for oversized grips like Ahrends or the old Mustang brand, and work off the areas that don't feel right. Hard to take a rasp to a beautiful set of Spegels or Nills. The fit of your grip is the key to shooting the pistol well, so it is worth the effort to find the right one.
