OGCA show this weekend?

just wondering who's going? we will be in row I 1 and 5, table's are closest
to the front door. hope to see some of you there.

Plan on going Saturday morning with Dad and my buddy I usually go with.

I've been an OGCA guy for 20 years, but haven't been to a show in 5 years. I miss those show at the old IX Center at The Cleve. airport. Hope you guys have a good time. Wish I could get there.

we'll be there, same place as usual ,row 'L' front wall...hope to see some of you guys ( and gals there) have a safe trip

yes, its been a while since the I-X but they are still looking, in fact the committee for the "site locations" was at the new gun show up in Euclid this past weekend, looking at the new expo center located there....BIG hall, LOTS of parking, but $$$$$$$ and needs LOTS of work...........will find out more this coming weekend...they may have a couple of "extra" shows here, just for the folks "up north" ( thats a LONG 3 and half hour ride down to Wilmington.......)

When it was at IX, I remember the guys from the south saying how hard it was to get up there. Now its reversed. What a turn-around. That closed down strip mall in Sandusky was a mess. I think they had 3 or 4 meetings there before they pulled the plug. Back in 1993 or 94 they had one show somewhere in south central Ohio in an old industrial type factory building. I can't remember the name of that town. Anybody remember?

yes, that show was held at the old AMF warehouse in Shelby,Ohio near Mid Ohio (Mansfield area),and would have been a perfect venue,location for a show,lots of potential for the area, the city wanted us, the county wanted us, but the "executive officers" of the club felt it would have been too costly to repair ( update) the building and that we were NOT in the "exposition business" we wanted to make it a "come to" place for other shows, and events, and there was plenty of interest by other shows to use the building, car shows, kennel club, for dog shows, and on and on.....Mid Ohio would have been ideal, we also had hotels wanted to build adjacent to the property, the county was willing to put n another 4 lane access road....yessir, they WANTED us to "move,locate, build" there...I happen to know all of this cause I was on the 'board' then, and felt the "old timers" let us down....there was plenty of ways to support/ finance and plan on a "for profit" end of the business, BUT, sorry, it was shot down......yes, it really let me down, I wantd to go this route, we could have put in a 'firearms or shooting museum" as well, and called it "home"...oh well, thats done and over and they been looking ever since, and Wilmington too wants us, and the venue is near perfect,hotel, restaurant, and freeway and all "right there",but 50 miles from the southern border of the state don't cut it for us "northerners", the Michigan, PA and western New York members. Tough to make everyone happy, and we must remember most of the cities we were doing the OGCA at or in, threw us out over the years....Dayton, Toledo, Canton, Columbus, Cleveland, they are the ones who lost out.......sorry, didn't mean to ramble...see you guys there, stay safe............

I just got off the phone with David Carroll. He's driving in a driving rain, just north of Nashville. On his way to man his 5 tables.

He asked that I post it here for others to see.

This is usually a pretty big show, and with rain predicted for the entire weekend, there'll be a lot of folks with their income tax refunds and time to burn. This will be my weekend in the hole, meaning I've got to work. We need a babysitter for all the outside contractors who can only do their thing when we're not working. Means if I'm lucky, I'll be up on Sunday.
