Default Dual Cylinder .44 Special/ .44-40

Just purchased a new Ruger Bisley Blackhawk. Here is a link,

Ruger Bisley Flattop 44 Special - RURNVB-445-SPCL - LIPSEYS.COM

I know Ruger used to make Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum with a .44-40 cylinder. I am just wondering if anyone here has one and how it shoots? I know the .44-40 uses a slightly smaller diameter bullet. But I have never seen anything on how these guns shoot.
I was thinking that if it works alright, I might check with Ruger and see if they could make me a .44-40 cylinder for my new revolver.
I don't have any .44-40s but have been toying with buying an 1873 Winchester replica. I think it would match up well with my Blackhawk.
This was purely an impulse buy. Another dealer had told me he had just gotten one, but was keeping it for himself. He said he had tried to get 2 but they would only let him have one. I had resisted buying one of the .44 Special Blackhawks but when I saw the Bisley, I had to do it.

John Taffin talks about the use of .44/40 in standard .429/.430" bores in some of his books. It seems to work out well.
I know others who simply use .429/.430 bullets in their .44/40's instead of the .427" that the .44/40 uses as standard. That is what I would do, and what the Rugers were really set up to do.
When you consider that a lot of guys run bullets from .429" up through .431" through the same bore in their magums without any problems, I doubt that you would run into any trouble either outside of the possibilty of poorer accuracy from the undersized .427" bullets (if you can even find them someplace)

I have owned a Uberti/American Arms 'Cattleman' Colt clone 44-40 that included a .44 Special cylinder.

Wasn't a fancy gun, being a cheaper version of the Uberti clones, but it shot nice.

Never had any issues with accuracy with either caliber. Although, I mostly fired .44 Specials out of the revolver, it did work just as well with the .44-40 Winchester ammo.
