Got the word Monday that the Form 4 for my Ma Deuce and Thompson SMG got approved. Should have them finally by this weekend.

I have got to get one of the MG42s. Those are pure wicked.

I think I saw my son in the background. Machineguns are fun to shoot. That is something the anti-gunners don't understand...or maybe they do. They just don't want us to have any fun.

I was never taught to shoot a machine gun as most of those folks do. I always was taught to use 3/5 round burst, that way you didn't burn you barrel nor give away your position as easily. I always found in combat that when you fired a machine gun like that, the enemy said, "Hey, there's the machine gun, everybody shoot at it."

Anti gunners don't like guns period, whether they are single shot or Vulcan Guns. Ban'em all according to them.

These shoots, are, as they say, about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. The explosions are mostly from sticks of dynamite duct taped to laths. There's a good article on the development and use of the RC model planes visible in some of those scenes in the current issue of Shotgun News. I'm told that one of the regulars at this event who is somehow in the business of trading or collecting Title II stuff once took out a bank loan for what he and his friendly banker referred to as a "belt de-linking device"... Nice work, Paladin!

I can tell you it's quite the experience to participate.

I've been to several of their previous shoots known as the "Dry Creek" shoots. Might try to search them on youtube if you're interested. Been to the first "Big Sandy" shoot a couple of years ago. Nothing quite like it. Much better than Knob Creek and hosted by a really great bunch of people.

Would like to participate more often but it is a cross-country trip with 2 & 1/2 tons of weapons and ammo. Can't do it as often as we use to due to expense and time commitments.

It's truely amazing what kind of weapons are in private hands in this country.

There's so much I don't know about this stuff; e.g. are the pistols in the one segment factory-made full auto, or are they ordinary semis which are modified?(The ones which look like ordinary semis, with the mags in the grip). If the artillery pieces near the end of the video are privately owned, how do those folks obtain them and the ammo for them?

Glock does make full-auto pistols - I'm sure that's what you saw. A friend of mine owns the Gatling gun shown; that's Denis himself operating it. As for the artillery pieces, I dunno. I suspect ammo would be hard to get. I'm sure the guns would have to be registered with the Feds as destructive devices. I also enjoyed seeing the Dillon mini-guns. As most of you know, I used to work for Dillon, and our business days would sometimes be interrupted with "Fire in the hole!" over the PA system when they'd test those guns with blank .308s. You covered your ears if you were on the floor, and once the racket was over, you could get back to what you were doing!

The Glock full-auto is the Glock 18. I think it's the only FA they make but I don't know for sure. It's in 9mm and is like the Glock 17, although the part are enough different that the slides, the FA part, won't interchange. The 'gear shift' is a little switch on the left side of the slide. Wish I owned one.

Some FA pistols are original equipment, some are pricy trasferables made before the corrupt Democrat Charlie Rangel engineered a ban on newly-made MGs for civilians in 1986. Some are dealer samples.

The FA Glock I shot (a 34, I think) was a dealer sample.
So far, it's the only Glock I've really liked.
I was interviewing a dealer/manufacturer and got to shoot a bunch of interesting stuff. With the FA Glock I was shooting three and four round bursts (seemed like more) and keeping them on a shot up plastic pickle barrel set out at 15 or 20 yards. I was grinning the "30 round grin" when I got done.

The Glock 18 used to have a barrel that projected out the front of the slide about an inch. It had three slots cut at an angle to help control the recoil. They had to discontinue that barrel design; the hot gas blew back on the plastic front sight, and the sight melted after a couple of 30 round magazines. I'd still like to have one.

Paladin, a few years ago I purchased a MG video from Dillion. I think it was called Machine Gun Magic (?) I still have it around here somewhere on VHS. I remember they were talking about making another video. Never heard any more about it. Do you know what happened? Thanks, Waldo
