SW .22 short ammo. Please don't move to "ammo"
OK guys and gals,
I posted the question in the ammo section without much in the way of responses. I picked this up the other day. Have any of you seen SW .22 short Max-Velocity ammo before? I have not and can't find a reference in the 3rd ed.
Thanks in advance.

No, but if you post a picture of the back of the box- it likely had to have been made by Fiocchi in Italy, or in East Alton IL.
As to value, I know not.

I've seen a couple on auction sites before. I'm not 100% positive of this, but I believe they were made in the mid to late 70s. I haven't seen any in quite awhile. Last box I saw went for around $12 I believe.

It's from the 1970's. I don’t remember seeing S&W .22 ammo that wasn’t marked made in Mexico, but that doesn‘t mean it doesn‘t exist. White boxes were standard velocity and blue boxes were high. My examples are L.R., which I'm sure is more common than shorts.

When fired, should have that "distinct" aroma.

I had some of this years ago. In rifles it shot so high that the sights would not adjust to point of impact.
