nice set he'll love that fort for a long time mine sure do. mine were playing on theirs today. of course our swing set is not as nice as yours. maybe one thing you might want to consider is putting down mulch under the long drops like the monkey bars. we put plastic down first then mulch on top. i noticed the spiderman shoes does that help him climb faster and higher? good job. Nice! He's a lucky kid.
When I asked my Dad for a fort 40+ years ago he handed me a hammer and a box of nails and pointed at the scrap wood pile. Except for the tetanus shot it came out a lot like the one you built.
Ahhh, the good ol' days.....

Looks like a swell station to shoot clays from & I'm sure the ajoining neighbors wouldn't mind if you extended an invitation...

It beats the cardboard box that I had, I had to get a new fort after every rain storm.

That is really cool. Imagine kids playing outside and not sitting at the computer like I am right now. In the 60's my dad built me a fort on top of the lath (lattus?) house that was hidden in two giant pine trees overlooking a 75 ft. deep creek we played in. a mattel tommy gun was my weapon of choice.
You really did great and your kid will really feel close to you for all the time he spent hanging out with you while you built it. You know, when he's a teenager, he's going to sneak girls up there!

That is a really good one! I just built a similar one for the grandkids last year. The one I built was not so intricate as yours, but still took way more time to build than was stated on the directions!
Your boy will love that for years to come! Great job.

He needs a Johnny Reb Cannon from Remco to make it complete.
If you can find one.

Wow!!!! You love your boy WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY more than I love mine
Reminds me of Christmas 1989. Son was 4, daughter was 3, wife was 8 months pregnant with #3. We live 40 miles from the Lafayette Toys R us. I had bought a swing set and was trying to assemble it Christmas Eve morning. Wife was of no use whatsoever. Did I mention that that was the year of the cold snap that kept us in low single digit temps for 5 days and broke every pipe in my house the three days before Christmas?
Got to about 95% finished with the swing set and then realized that I was missing a whole pouch of fasteners! Did I mention that I was driving a van at the time? I had to undo the entire swing set so it would quasi fit in the van and then hi tail it back up to Toys R Us praying that I could get there before they closed and that they had another swing set. They didn't but they said they had the next one up in price and I could just pay them the difference! After a brief "conversation", I was begged to leave the store with the new swing set and not charged extra.
SO there I was at 9:00 at night with a flash light in my teeth putting together a swing set for my babies for Christmas morning. DId I mention that this was during the famous cold snap of 1989 and that all the pipes in my house were frozen???
Ahhhhhhhhh memories of being a father

Will your son rent you space when you screw up and buy your wife a new vacuum cleaner for your wedding anniversary.

Ha, I remember my 40+ hour assembly of one of those about 6 years ago. He will get many years of fun out of that.

I had forts to defend (old delapidated barns); I always had a flag. This is as good as any.
BTW, I bet I'm not the only person to fly a haystack into combat, either.
The fort you made for your son is very nice, and a lot safer than old farm buildings and such. But something as simple as a home-made flag makes it much better.
