BBQ Rig - Complete!
I showed this holster to the forum a little while back. Wyatt Burp made the holster and the matching belt, and they are more beautiful then I could have ever expected. I held back on showing the entire rig until is was complete. This weekend in Tulsa I picked up a buckle set and a cell phone holder and a new Damascus knife.

I wouldn't normally think such a plain gun could look so good in such a fancy rig, but somehow it works. Ha!!
Really, Nice buckle choice, and it's great that that belt tip fit so well. Even though it's a standard 1 1/2" belt, sometimes you have to trim the leather down a little to squeeze in there.
You have the most flamboyant, abstract, B-B-Q gun I've ever seen and it was an honor attempting to make a rig suitable for it. And thanks for the new screen saver.

Now that's' just sexy! The revolver sure has a stubby cylinder. What is it?

No, but since I retired I've been making stuff for folks on two gun forums. Some personal pain in the butt obligations have hampered me lately, but I can try to squeeze them in when possible. Like James56's holster of this style that is almost done.

Thanks everyone. I am pretty happy with it myself. I am amazed at Wyatt's work. I encourage anyone who is interested to contact him. Wyatt is very easy to work with. I'm not sure what I will ask him to do next, but I do know I will be asking...
For those asking about the gun, it is a heavily modified M1917 in .45acp. Here is a link to the album of pictures. There are detailed photographs as well as descriptions of all or most of the modifications.

That's a neat looking outfit. I like that shrouded ejector rod barrel on it. That one must have been a pile of pitting when you got it looking at your picture file. But somebody had put a lot of custom work into it. Nice save to bring it all together and completion.

45Wheelgun - Wyatt did a really fantastic job on your leather. Question: As nice as that is will you ever wear it or will it be only for display?

Beautiful, just friggin' beautiful. If you own rigs like this and don't live in an open carry state....move. Move as soon as you can!
Great work.

I have already worn it! You can't see it, because I hid it in the photo, but behind the buckle is the typical mark you get on your belt after you have worn it.
Of course it will not get worn a lot, as the BBQ season is short up here in the north.

Pretty cool David...when you get done with that other thing you bought in Tulsa you can have Wyatt add another boot to that rig and have a double BBQ gun setup

Information on "that other thing" is classified at this time. The committee meetings have begun and a RFP is being prepared. I can not divulge any details but I can say that the word "Fitz-Pinto" has been heard in the hallway.
