Default Backwards Vision

Strange things are going on concerning my vision. A few weeks ago I was having a hard time reading text on my LCD TV. I removed my glasses and after my eyes refocused I could see the screen more clearly.
Now I'm reading the forum and typing this post sans glasses. My vision isn't perfect but it's actually getting better.
I'm looking forward to going to the range to see if I can shoot a handgun with uncorrected shooting glasses. I sure hope the trend continues. Anyone else had this happen?

Default Are you near-sighted?

As we get "older" we tend to become somewhat far-sighted, hence the image of the old man holding the paper at arms length to read it. It is possible that age is correcting you vision. If it is indeed a trend, you may notice that your favorite guns start sporting longer barrels.

My eye doc said after you hit 50 the eyes do tend to improve, which is why my contacts were taken down a notch.

That would explain it, but no surgery.

It happened to my sister. She was extremely nearsighted (20-200) until she hit middle age. Her vision got better and better - now she doesn't wear any corrective lenses at all. No surgery of any kind.

Yeah, mine said about the same, and it happened to me, but it is minor compared to my total nearsightedness. Definitely enough to get a new prescription for, though. Also, I think that he said that later it may run the other way, but it it makes no difference to me. I am now getting my eyeballs measured every year, regardless.

I wish that I had 20/20 hindsight; I still can not figure out how I managed to screw-up so badly in many cases.
As for foresight, sometimes I have a vague premonition that something is going to go badly wrong. For instance the time I bought my wife a new vacuum sweeper for her birthday, well she said she wanted one, and I know enough (finally) not to buy her clothes.

For no good reason I can think of (born 1934), my eyesight is quite good, I can focus on the front sight and see the bullseye. Clearly better than 20 years ago.
