Default One of these birds isn't a crow!

I took this pic at the lake this morning...

... always dead deer along the highway and this eagle was feasting to the irritation of a bunch of crows.

I'd seen one eagle in my life in southern Indiana until this month. I've seen this one and a smaller one 4 times in the last coupla' weeks.

It's a very cool sighting!

We have lots of them here but I never have my camera.

Ospreys and Hawks are easy but I have not "snapped" a Eagle yet.

Great pic!

Just southeast of you, north of Louisville about 40 miles.

I don't know why they've shown up here, I'm glad though!

We're seeing alot of bald eagles around here now. Never did when I was growing up. Watched two crows chasing one down the street yesterday, flying about 30 feet off the ground.

There has been a couple nesting at a nearby lake and the park rangers found one dead with a dead crow near it. No marks on it and no clue what killed it. They took it to freeze it until they could get it mounted for a display in their office, They have different animals mounted there including a golden eagle, beaver, bobcat, bear, hawk, osprey, mink, coyote, turkey, deer, rattle snake, fox and others I can't remember.

Thumbs up

Hi GF!

At 56 years old, I had never seen Bald Eagles in Indiana until the past 8 years.

According to the IDNR, there are around 12-15 known pairs nesting in Tippecanoe county and mostly along the Tippecanoe River. Our shop is located about a mile from the Tippy and during the winter months, we see these majestic animals almost daily. What a treat to see!

Southwest of Crawfordsville, near Shades State Park, there are scores of them along the river and near Sugar Creek.

This photo was taken by my friend, Donald Blue:

There are about 15 eagle nests I watch each year in the spring and fall before the leaves fill in and after they fall off. There is one nest in a tree next to the parking lot of a bar in Sandusky, OH, with a camera mounted in the tree to see the nest from a big screen TV in the bar. When they first put up the camera, they saw several collars from cats in the nest, so the pair was/is eating quite well.
