Anyone have a designated "truck gun" ??
I'm just curious what others use as their Truck Gun. I keep a Ruger Speed Six in my old '85 Toyota 4-Runner, I don't use my S&W's as the Speed Six is SS and rugged as all get out........& as its my truck gun I'm not really concerned if the Speed Six gets scuffed or scratched. I usually keep an older Remington .22LR M552 rifle in the back also (for squirrels and such ). Not my pic .. just one that looks like my gun.
Ruger Speed Six 2 3/4" barrel

That Speed Six is too nice for that duty. I'd love to have one (at a reasonable price). My truck gun is a Glock 22 with an Insight M3X light.

My truck gun is whatever I'm carrying that day.
I will not leave a loaded gun in my truck. If someone decides to smash in or steal the truck, I don't want to give them a gun.
Just my two cents.

I keep a Ruger Security Six in the Jeep. From what I understand, those Tuffy's lock boxes are pretty tough. There have been a few discussions on the Jeep boards and I've never heard of a successful break in to a Tuffy's.

That's a sweet gun...I had the service six and loved it...with the fixed sights I feel it makes a better carry gun than a 2 1/2 inch 66/19..blasphemy, I know...

Truck guns must be a mid-south thing.

+1. But I usually have my 5.11 Bug-Out-Bag with me too, fully equipped with a Kel-Tec Sub2000 and three 20 round MecGar mags. Folds up so small you can have a carbine in the space of a handgun.

When I'm in my truck I usually have my Sig P239 (.357 Sig) in my top consol compartment. It lays in there perfectly in a Uncle Mikes soft holster.

My old pre 58 S&W 38 spl. You'd have to know where it is to find it.

David, I really like the looks of that Ithaca M37. Everyone I know that has one loves it..........I've got to hunt one up sometime and try it out. Nice pic.

Ruger P-95 with 3-15 round mags. Don't care if it gets banged around, it's not pretty anyway.

My truck as well as ATV rifle. AK-74 with a 30 rd mag handy. I carry it with a home made, shortened 20 rd mag, made from a steel mag. Shorter, handier.
My usual carry pistol is an 1950's pre M-18.

A Glock 19 is my truck gun. I don't feel too bad letting it ride under the floormat. It's a great banging around pistol

My work truck gun is a Mini 14, open sights, 5 shot mag. The last time I cleaned out the truck (during the GWBush administration) there was a Makarov 9x18 in there.

Finish-challenged S&W M39-2. Fairly non-descript except for the 18Kt gold ramp front sight. Inlaid and serrated by a jeweler friend of mine. I figured that if there was anything I needed to see the front sight of, this was it.

Marlin .45 Camp Carbine and 2 Chip McCormick 10 round mags. The pistols vary daily.

Glock model 20 first generation with an extra mag. It stays in the truck so if I have to leave in a hurry I have something handy. I got it cheap. An AK in the tool box and the gun of the day in my pocket.

I had a Savage 24 "Camper" 22RF over 20 ga. 20",ammo storage in the butt stock with 2 20round 600 Nitro Express plasitc ammo boxes, each with 5 Rounds #7.5,#4,#4 Buck,& Slugs, also a 50 pack of mini-mags and couple boxes of 22 plinking ammo. Small scope, sling, cleaning kit and a small knife for game, in a carry case. Rode with me for almost 20 years. Current Job prohibits-bummer! It made hunting on the way home or plinking on vacation easy.

This XD40 because I trust it, but also because it is one of the more aesthetically challenged pistols I own. It does get banged around some, exposed to moisture, etc...

Model 36 in my car and 37 in my truck both DAO.
I bought a Ruger P94 and matching P40 carbine in .40 cal that share mags for that duty. I don't have enough rounds through both yet to trust them but both are 100% so far.
