American Handgunner Mag.
I subscribe to the AH mag. and my sub expires in 2012.Today I received a notice of renewal from a Co. called MDS in Reno Nv. telling me that I need to send $71.40 by July 26th to renew my sub. I emailed AH to find out what was up.They emailed me back and advised that my supposed billing was not legitimate and in fact my exp date was 2012.
Just thought you guys and gals might be on the lookout for this billing if you subscribe to the AH.
Jim

I think they mentioned this in a recent issue. However, it is wise to remind us.

Great Magazine. I wonder how the online view of the current magazine hurts subscriptions?

With the online I figured they get stats for everyone that views and downloads the magazine.

You can read AH, GUNS, and American Cop on-line for free.

There are tons of scams out there for periodicals. Always make sure when you get a renewal notice to make sure it's legit.

You can also check the current subscription rates at the magazine's web site.
If the return address is not the magazine's address, then it is probably a scam.

lobosolo:
I get subscription renewal notices from "magazine subscription services" in California (in the past) and Nevada (these days). Stay away from those guys.
Good for you that you recognized a thinly disguised scam. You'll get your subscription but you'll pay a huge premium (for nothing).

Well, go figure, I got the exact same thing yesterday and this after sending a check for a two year renewal to AH about a month ago.
These guys should be criminally prosecuted for these scams.

Ditto here. Got one yesterday from "MDS". Am ignoring it
Wish the return envelope didn't require a stamp. Then I'd send their scam **** back to them.
Best, RG
