We've been on the road for 13 hours; Augusta, GA to Someplace East of ST Louis, MO. Call the motel at 5 PM, make room reservation, give credit card number, tell them we will arrive after 11:00 PM, and have confirmation number. OK, fine, thank you for calling.
Get a call from motel at 10:30 PM about the room. Do we still want the room, are we going to arrive soon? Yes we want room and you have credit card number. We will arrive in 2 hours we are east of St. Louis, MO.
Arrive at the motel at 12:30 AM. Two gentleman from India greet us. Yes we called about room reservation, late arrival, and have confirmation number. Randy is doing all the talking because it is his credit card. Both gentlemen tell us they can't find our reservation, can't locate confirmation number, and aren't sure room is available.
Randy is patient, I'm not. I say, "Excuse me, I believe you are confused. We aren't ordinary tourists, we are going to Wyoming to shoot prairie dogs. I can start shooting prairie dogs in Somewhere, Missouri now." Immediately, Randy's reservation was found, confirmation number is approved, and do you want to leave the room on your credit card? Randy was quite happy with their desk-side manner.
We got the luggage rack, went to the van, and got 2 double rifle hard cases, a single hard case, and 4 soft rifle cases, and 2 small suit cases. As we came through the lobby to the elevator, we were asked if the room was ok, do we need anything, what can we do to help you? Amazing service. I assured them everything was more than satisfactory.
