Fitz (plastic) stag S&W grips
For no real reason, here's a set of Fitz plastic stag grips; for someone who loved the toy cowboy guns of the 1950's, they have a real charm. They actually feel pretty good on a gun, I put them on a model 14 once to try them at the range.
They're probably still worth the $6.95 they cost when new!

I used "Fitz" stags on blued service revolvers in the 1960s. Mostly on Model 10s.
My first service revolver (purchased yourself back then) was a Colt Trooper .38spl 4' blued. The colt was used and had oversized fitz stags on it. Traded a #2030 DWM 1915 Luger for it.

I just had my sister buy me some $10 fake service stags for a Colt Police Positive on e-Bay. They look just as cheap as Franzites. I think they'll look great on this gun. Maybe I've watched too many B-westerns. Now I have to pay my sister when I see her! Isn't it amazing how good these cheap grips sometimes feel on a gun.

I came across a Colt Police Positive with plastic stag grips on it.
My neighbor across the street is a museum curator and he inherited it. I "checked it out" and "cleaned it up" for him.
The previous owner had been a woman (who was also a "shooter"..."in the day") had painted the front sight with red finger nail polish. I removed that...and it looked pretty good...with the exception of the cheesy, plastic, stage grips.
Did they come that way?
Well, my friend sold that Colt Police Positive to another museum....one that has the second largest Colt collection outside of the factory museum.
That really surprised me. I was rather unimpressed...but he said they need it for a "hole" in their collection. Go figure?
