Default Guns stolen from Netanyahu's security at JFK airport

It is being reported that four Glock pistols belonging to Netanyahu's Shin Bet security detail were stolen from a suitcase either at JFK airport or L.A., where they somehow got detoured. Theft of handguns and other property by baggage handlers is nothing new, but why would Netanyahu fly in to JFK on one of his own planes, disembark and then take a U.S. passenger plane to D.C.? Is his security detail expected to be disarmed when it enters the U.S.? Does this same policy apply to other heads of state as well, or just those who are not popular with the current administration? Many theories are starting to emerge.

They are being reported as "lost", which is merely the politically correct term for "stolen" when bloated government agencies are involved. Somewhere along the way the luggage was opened and the guns removed.

Apparently the security personnel came first and Netanyahu was not with them at the time. But still... is it always a matter of routine practice for the security of heads of state to use commercial air travel and to have to check and declare their guns just like the rest of us? I don't know if I should shake my head in disbelief or just laugh hysterically.

I doubt it, when we have seen th 'Saudi; planes come over here and land at Hopkins and get parked over at the 'Jet center' next door, they come "direct"??? the Prince or any of the royal family used to often land here to go to the Cleveland Clinic, now we heard they actually moved (built) a Cleveland Clinic heart wing, over there...............we used to get a kick out of hearing ( and seeing) just "how much of a red carpet" treatment they got ........we knew some of the 'security' and the limo drivers they used over here........pure political "BS"........

It's not very "kosher" to take Bibi's boys guns so be a "mensch" and return them. Unless your an Arab of course. Netanyahu was probably packing when he met BHO since his origin and religion are questionable. Just kidding.

Kidding? If they are not questionable, why are people questioning them?

The policy varies. I read a book by a former Secret Service agent who said that for a time, the SS had trouble protecting the President in the UK, and had to share one gun, as I recall! They eventually got that sorted out somehow.

A former college dean of my acqaintance said that when a British Prime Minister visited his university, his security man had an S&W M-36 snub with standard lead RN bullets. My friend gave him some lead Plus P HP's, for which he was grateful.

They landed right in the LaLa-Land of Bloomberg,,,They should have kept going.
Only special people like Chucky Schumer are allowed to have a pistol (permit) legally in NYC. He needs one to protect himself because he's important. Just ask him.

If Nety wasn't aboard at the time the plane landed at JFK, the security detail had no need for the firearms,,was probably the reasoning. Can't trust foreign security detail agents from Israel with handguns at an airport afterall. Especially not in NYC when they're trying so desperately to keep gun crime under control.
Tuck the handguns safely into some checked baggage while everyone watches and send them out for the next leg of the trip. Let who's ever there to meet them figure it out when they get there.
Sorry your bags with your handguns went to LA. and some are missing.
Probably in the hands of street gangs now.
Just proves the point that Bloomy is always trying to make...handguns are a public health & safety threat. No one should be allowed to have one....Except his security guards and his croonie friends.

Wonder if those Glocks had the nifty little selector switches? Its a black eye to the US that theives stole from a diplomats protection outfit. Especially if they were stolen by TSA employees. On the otherhand, could be some really cool, no paper, G18's will be hitting the street.

People often run wild with evidence that "feels right" to their worldview?

I often wonder if there's any kind of Venn overlap between people who were convinced and vocal that 9/11 was a conspiracy and people who are convinced that the POTUS is a foreign born usurper...

Naw, they probably look across the aisle and just shake their head at those whackos.

Israel often used German made weapons going back to the late 1940's. I once owned a 98 Mauser with both Nazi markings and Israeli markings that had been converted to 7.62.

Who knows what happened to the guns. We do know that our POTUS does not look kindly on Isreal. Being friends with the Isrealies is not helpful to our nation's outreach to the muslim world.

AFAIK, they got those all from Czechoslovakia. Not sure what role the Kremlin made in that decision, or why, but those are the facts as I understand them.

According to the Port Authority Police, nothing at JFK is ever stolen, it's all "lost property". Don't want to make the bosses look bad, ya know. Apparently the cancer called Compstat has spread beyond it's host, the NYPD.

OT, but when I worked at lockheed they built a 10-11 for one of the kings or maybe it was the shah of iran. I got up in it. It was lavish. Gold bathroom fixtures for even the shahs nannie, and the biggest thing I recall was a round bed that would turn just like a needle on a compass so as the plane made turns the shahs head would always face east while he slept!
