Default Brass ejector rod???

Aloha,

I just passed M-65-3 that was "worked on" by persons unknown.

And to make it more interesting, the gun has a Brass ejector rod.

No, I personally did not see the gun, That's how it was described to me.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of the ejector rod being made of Brass?

If so, is there any good reason for it?

I learned a long time ago to pass on a gun which has been "worked on" by unkown person(s).

The brass ejector rod was nother reason not to buy it, for me any way.

You sure he didn't mean the rod for the "brass ejector"? Either that, or it may have been Gold plated for some unknown reason.

Aloha,

No, I specificaly asked and he said ejector rod is brass....

Which is why I asked here as I've never heard of a brass ejector rod.

Then again, there's a lot of stuff I've never heard of.

Never heard of one either.
But if someone needed a replacement rod and decided to make one instead of buy one, brass would be the easist metal to work with if you didn`t have a lathe.
Stainless steel can be a pain to work with even if you do have a lathe.
