Default odd thing about XS sights...

I dunno where else to post this as it's not a Smith so I decided to put it here.

My NAA Pug which I've posted pics of before has the XS "big dot" sight on it,now as I read you put the big'ol dot on top of the post and shoot.....well I did that and, folks I ain't lying I can't hit for spit! one shot will be left the next right

I might have chalked this up to the small size of the thing had I not thought to try the sights in a more regular manner i.e. I buried half the big dot in the rear blade and made sure the top of the front post was dead level with it~I'm shooting 2 1/2 groups now instead of 5 or even 8

So anyone else noted this? or do you have a gun so equipped and can't hit with it? maybe you could go try what I did? I'm just curious as they don't work as advertised.

I have found the XS standard size dot to be a quick and effective sight for "close combat" type shooting, but not particularly accurate for target shooting beyond about 15 yards.

I have seen a video where one of the XS guys demonsrtated that he sure could shoot with their sights..

I guess it just takes practice.

I guess, this is at the 8yd mark,I'm not getting groups I'm getting patterns if I use it as they tell me to-but if I line them up as one would normal sights they work fine.

Just tossing it out there to see what others have to say.

I haven't had any disappointments with the several XS Big Dots I have on several guns --- they are not precision aiming equipment, but all mine are up the task of close to mid-range aiming accuracy.
