Which would you keep - Which Would You Cull?
Time to thin the herd.
Which of these three would you cull?
My thought is that the Ruger is the keeper, sort of like a really nice 3 1/2" 27-2.
(P.S., I am not posting to try and make a sale)

They're all nice rifles. Really, the are. Thinking it over, I'd get rid of the Winchester.

All three are NOT easy to find. Do you shoot them? Get rid of the one that you don't shoot. Or does each have a purpose?
I would get rid of the Kimber.

All three are good shooters, and I keep them for the fun of owning them and shooting them at the range.
From the point of view of replacement, the Kimber would be the easiest to replace -- the company still makes them (so they say) and online auctions pop up frequently at not much more than what I could likely get for it in a quick sale.
The Ruger would be relatively tough to replace, as they don't make 'em like that anymore.
The Winchester 88 is not made anymore either, but it would be relatively easy to replace via online auction if I really missed it, which I would not.
I will definately need to chew on this a bit.

You haven't even sold one yet and you're pondering how easy or difficult it would be to replace one if you got rid of it.
Seems like you have your answer.

You just GOT the Ruger - what - 3, 4 months ago?
Hasn't been very long.
Thinking about getting rid of it already?
Wow.
Edit: July. 6 months.

I'm not really a rifle guy, but I would keep the Ruger. I have owned three or four No. 1s, including an International in 30-06. One of the two or three guns I really regret trading off. Don't even remember what I traded for now.

I would lose the Ruger. Never cared for Mannlicher stocks and I dearly love the Roberts. The Winchester? Well, it's a Winchester. The Ruger isn't!

They're all nice rifles, can't see why you think you have to get rid of
any one of them. And yeah, didn't you just get the Ruger a few months
ago? If you are a handloader the Winchester would probably be the
one to sell. If you are a hunter or just like to shoot I would say keep
the two that fit you the best.

I'm a Winchester fan, but I'd dump the 88 first. I wanted one of those for years. A couple of years back, I found one for a bargain. I shot it a few times and discovered it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It had a trigger like a Chinese vice grip and handled like a 2x6. It wasn't very accurate either.

They are so different and so cool *** you could certainly make a case for hangin' on to all 3. Don't you have a kid you could sell instead?!?!?!?
If I had to part with one, I believe it would be the Number 1. Those zombies tend to come at you 2 at a time.

I think it is a personal preference decision that only you can make. They all are in calibers similar enough to take the same game if needed. 243 ammo is more readily available.

Now if the Ruger were chambered for .257 Roberts...
I've always wanted, but never owned, a .257. But I think I'd keep the Ruger. I really like .243, and it's just a beautiful rifle that would be harder to replace.

I hate to part with anything Winchester. I have a black powder Winchester inline in stainless that I'll probably never shoot but it's a Winchester.

Nope
Work some more overtime to buy what you want.
I would not consider getting rid of any of those fine examples.

If you are like me you will wish you did not get rid of any of them. I unloaded 30 of my S&W revolver 32 up to 44 mags and 7 of my Dan Wesson!! Boy I wish I had them back now. I jest don't mess with them any more. I would keep the 243.

There was a reason Winchester dropped the Model 88...
The Ruger is the last one I'd chuck out.

Which would you keep - Which Would You Cull?
Tough call , but I'd say bye-bye to the 88.
I've owned an 88 and an older savage 99 (1950s). I'll take a savage. If you decide you can't live without a modern lever gun, there's a lot more 99s floating around.
No way would I let a fine .257 get away.
I consider the .243 pretty boring. Too big for varmints, too small for big game. If it were mine, unless it was capable of sub-MOA, I'd trade or re- barrel it to something more interesting. Maybe 30-40 Krag, 6.5 Swede, 25-06. Ooh, .338-06!!!

Unless you really really need the money.. keep all 3. Those are 3 very nice rifles. Sell a Glock or something. But if you absolutely have to..the Winchester.

I say sell the Kimber. The Ruger stock would be a keeper for me, and the Winchester is a Winchester.

I sold the .257 Kimber. Still in production and the ammo costs twice what I pay for the .243 used in the other two guns.
The Ruger .243 No. 1 RSI is a keeper for now because of its rarity.
The verdict is still out on the .243 Winchester 88. But I will do my best at the range this Spring to see if it too is a keeper. A hard job, but someone has to do it!
