Eezox Lubricant ?......
This is a question for those that use Eezox: Do you know what they use for a cleaner/ carrier (solvent?)
I'm trying to find out if the stuff is safe for skin contact or if it's toxic before I order some. Does it say anything on the label about avoiding skin contact?
I'm guessing the solvent in it might be kerosene because the instructions on their web-site say not to let it pool up and dry or it may become sticky.
But if someone could read the label for me I would be most grateful.
~ Nope! can't be kerosene. The site says it's Non-flamible. Wonder what it could be....

May want to give them a call if you can find the number, as I haven't see Ezox sold for some years. I bought some and didn't care for the way it smelled at all. Good lube though- slicker than ice covered marble.

The solvent is TCE. Which is a potent solvent. Same as some Break Kleen formulas. Brownells sells straight TCE as a greaser.
I use it on my safe queen guns as it is the best for long term rust prevention. It also is a "dry" lubricant. Great stuff and the recommended lube for Seecamp firearms. Midway sells it. A little goes a long, long way. Clean your firearm with your regular method and then apply with a soft cloth. let it dry. As a stange odor which I actually like.
Wear gloves as it is hard to get the smell off your hands. If you do get it on your hands wash them with rubbing alcohol and then kitchen soap. Seems to be the best way
Eezox MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet
I buy Brakleen rather than Gun Scrubber as it is the exact same chemical and a lot cheaper.

Hey guys...thanks very much. I appreciate it.
Soon after I posted, I stumbled upon the specs and found out that the carrier is Trichlor. I've decided against ordering it 'cause it seems that the thing it really excells in is rust protection for long-term storage. This isn't an issue for me so I'll be going with either M-Pro 7 or Weapon Shield. What I need is a good lubricant...not a protectant or cleaner.
From all the research I've done on the M-Pro 7 LPX it seems that it might fit the bill. I've just today started to look into the Weapon Shield and (according to them) nothing is slicker. But "M-Pro" says the same about their product, so....
As a side note: I just bought a bottle of the M-Pro Gun Cleaner Gel solely because of it being non-toxic. I already know it's not going to clean as good as the more powerful "toxic" chemicals we all use but I figured at $4.95 for the bottle, I'd give it a try.

I never used it on my hunting rifles...afraid the critters would smell it and run the other way. I thought I had used it all but just found an aerosol can 1/3 full. I also had a plastic squeeze bottle of the stuff...that one is gone.
The can says, "Functions from 450 degrees to 95 degrees F below 0"
My can does not have much info on the ingredients...simply says, " Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Contains Chlorinated Solvents. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call physician. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid inhaling vapors."

Their web-site says "after the solvent evaporates, there is a very slight lingering smell akin to that of a fresh mowed wheat field."
This was in their FAQ's section where someone asked the question "Will the smell have much effect on game while hunting?"

I spent years trying to find something that worked well as a rust inhibitor on long term storage 'barn gun'.
Eezox was the first product out of many tried that I could leave the barn gun out there without worry for the next 6 months.
I rather like the smell. Now.

I use it with green scotchbrite pad to take the lead out of my single shot Pedersoli .40-65. It really does the trick, and since I started using it, I don't seem to get the leading anymore either.
